Auditory-verbal therapy funding program
Project Vision
Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) is the international gold standard for helping hearing-impaired children utilize their remaining hearing and develop oral communication skills. Ray-Chiao is currently the only internationally accredited AVT center in Hong Kong. Through this funding scheme, we hope to enable underprivileged families to access professional early intervention services at an affordable cost.
beneficiaries
This program is for children aged 0-6 with hearing impairment .
The following categories will be given priority consideration:
Infants aged 0-3 years
Those with poor listening comprehension, unclear pronunciation, or slow speech development
Hearing impairment accompanied by other developmental disorders (such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, intellectual disability, etc.)
Details
Time: July 22 to August 28, 2026, during designated weekday times (specific times will be confirmed with each admitted family before June 5).
Class sessions: One session per week, four sessions in total, each session lasting 60 minutes.
Cost: $300/session
Application Qualifications:
Families participating in any of the following programs:
Comprehensive social security assistance
School book allowance (full/half)
Kindergarten tuition fee reduction
Kindergarten education expense allowance
Service content
Section 1:
A detailed assessment of auditory and language development was conducted, and a treatment plan was developed.
Sections 2-4:
Hearing monitoring and management: Ensuring hearing aids perform at their best.
Comprehensive training: Covering auditory, language, pronunciation, and social communication training.
Parent Training: Guiding parents on how to integrate training techniques into daily life.
Therapist: Ms. Theresa Wong - Senior Speech Therapist and Internationally Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT)
